nobody's really all that surprised.
i'm getting used to the new name, i'm even doing ok with "he" (although i still hate gendered pronouns more than just about anything on the planet), but in light of this, please forgive me if i have a hard time with the word "boyfriend."

This post makes me so happy, particularly the latter half.
The labels will come and go. Maybe you will find a term that works better than "boyfriend", maybe you will grow into a varied definition of the term. To borrow the words of poet Andrea Gibson, "You are whoever you are when you are it."
...but you know this already.
