Meyers-Briggs

we got into a discussion about personality types at work yesterday. when i outed myself as an I, my coworker responded, "you're an I?? no way, i definitely thought you were an E."

i said "thank you, i put a lot of work into appearing that way."

what does it mean that my perception of myself is so different from how others perceive me?

Interesting question. I certainly don't have the answer, but the thought did occur to me that different environments bring out different aspects of our personalities. How you act in the environments in which the people in question most often see you is likely going to have the greatest impact on their perception of you, regardless of whether or not those environments are the same environments in which you spend the most time being "you".
